Cinegiovani APS was founded in Lecce, a small university town in southern Italy, at the end of 2021 by a group of cinematographers. Over the years CINEGIOVANI has become the home of many young talents of cinema, music and the arts in general but also of many young Italians (but not only) who wanted to promote their projects or realize them. One of the missions of the association is to tell the social and youth problems through cinema and audiovisual: we are strongly convinced of the potential of the cinematographic medium and the new digital means for individual expression and problem solving. In addition, we operate by carrying out workshops for young people with fewer opportunities using non-formal education (especially gaming and learning by doing) both at local, national and European level. The social context in which we operating is a rural context that does not offer many opportunities to young people (from education to leisure) and for which many of them find refuge in criminal environments.
Among our goals:
- Encourage and bring out everyone’s talents, especially young people with fewer opportunities
- Building opportunities (including work) for young people
- Promoting active citizenship, belonging to European values and collective dialogue
- Create a space that respects the ecosystem and nature
- Building relationships between young people from all over Europe based on interculturality
- Make film products on youth problems aimed at solving them and promoting dialogue
- Transforming young people from a passive part of society to an active part
- Promoting diversity as a treasure and not as a problem
- Include all young people in one home We are active in various fields, especially in cinema, non-formal education, erasmus+ and new technologies (social networks in the first place).
We have been active under the Erasmus+ programme since October 2024.
